Why couples choose this over a restaurant moment
The appeal is fairly simple: total privacy (no restaurant staff hovering, no other diners), a genuinely dramatic backdrop, and a natural high point built into the morning — the moment the sky turns gold. Several couples have told us the twenty minutes of sunrise gave a proposal room to breathe in a way a fixed dinner reservation never could.
Choosing the right tier
The Private tier (€400/person) already guarantees your own basket with no strangers aboard. The Royal tier (€550/person) goes further, with breakfast served at altitude or in a private kasbah setting afterward — many couples choose Royal specifically so the celebration continues on the ground rather than ending abruptly at landing.
Timing the moment itself
Most proposals happen in the 10–15 minutes around actual sunrise, once the balloon has levelled off at a comfortable altitude and the light is at its most dramatic — pilots are used to this and will often quietly time the route accordingly if you mention it when booking. Let us know in advance and we'll pass the context to your pilot, who can also help coordinate a discreet photo from the pilot's own position in the basket.
Rings, logistics, and one practical warning
A basket in flight moves gently but isn't perfectly still — a small, zippered pocket is safer for a ring box than an open hand until the actual moment. Wind can also be a factor, so if you're planning to kneel, let your pilot know in advance so they can brief you on where in the basket it's safest to do so.
Anniversaries and vow renewals
The same logic applies for anniversaries — many couples specifically request the date closest to their original anniversary, weather permitting, and use the Royal breakfast as a quiet, uninterrupted way to mark the occasion without a restaurant booking.
Booking for a special occasion
Mention the occasion when you book — via the notes on the booking page or by messaging us on WhatsApp beforehand — and we'll make sure your pilot has the context ahead of the morning.
